Every year I ritualistically live stream Coachella hunting for the next great discovery. This past year I discovered none other than Khruangbin, the instrumental soul/funk band hailing out of Texas. The further down the rabbit hole I went on this band, the more I fell in love with them. The guitarist Mark Speer is a soulful jazzy wizard, Laura Lee the bass player sits in the groove like a well worn record and the drummer Donald "DJ" Johnson is the silent killer who holds impeccable timing.
